MX player accused of playing with religious sentiments, trending on Twitter #Arrest_Prakash_Jha

First Tanishq's advertisement, then tweets about Eros Now's Navratri and now Prakash Jha. On social media, a new war against religious sentiments is seen starting. Prakash Jha has contested elections from Bihar many times and this time his series 'Ashram' released just before Bihar elections has been accused of playing with religious sentiments. A written complaint has also been lodged at a police station in Jodhpur. There is no statement about Prakash Jha or OTT who published this series so far.

Producer-director Prakash Jha, who has been making films that hurt social inequalities and stereotypes, got an invitation from the country's big OTT MX player to make a web series on the hypocrisy of a Baba. In this series, a Baba's relationship with women and his criminal activities have been kept at the center. Some such cases have also come to light in the country in recent years and some babas have been arrested in those cases.

Prakash Jha's web series Ashram was shot in Ayodhya, a religious city in Uttar Pradesh. It has a story of exploitation of a backward class girl who later overthrows the story. The first time the series was shot, the MX player split it into two. The first half of Season One has been dubbed as OTT Superhit and has been making claims for its viewership. However, these figures have not yet been confirmed by any governmental body or regulatory agency.

The promo of the second chapter of the first season of the Ashram series comes at a time when the assembly elections in Bihar and the by-elections in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh are going on. Only after the release of this promo, many Hinduist religious organizations have stood against it. A written complaint has also been lodged at a police station in Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Both Prakash Jha and Bobby Deol have been named in this complaint.

No response has yet been given on the part of the Ashram series, despite being approached by the OTT and its making company Prakash Jha films. Prakash Jha, who recently made a debut in the digital world, has been ranked among the most-watched films of the G5. One of his films, ' Manto's Bicycle ', has been screened at the Busan Film Festival this week. The OTT MX player shows video content to people for free and semi-sex scenes have been seen in most of its web series.
